Tripura: Man steals gold

Agartala (Tripura): A man was arrested for stealing a gold chain worth less than Rs. 1000 in Tripura. What was unusual about the case was that the theft had taken place 37 years back.

 

Sixtytwo-year old Abhinash Das alias Abhilash was arrested by Airport police from Bhati Abhoynagar Mullapara area. A warrant had been issued against Abhiansh in 1977 under Article 379 of IPC.


   

The police had been trying to locate his whereabouts after he escaped from his home in Chenaihani area. 

 

The police received information about his location and finally arrested him. It was revealed that Abhinash had disguised himself as a sadhu and was staying in Mullapara area. Read more
