Five Cards That Narendra Modi Played To Decimate Congress And Register Landslide Victory

Narendra Modi has finally delivered what he promised. Except Modi, perhaps no one predicted such a landslide victory. All the Exit Polls, except ‘News 24-Chanakaya’, went wrong and could not see the surging Modi tsunami. Modi campaigned extensively across the country after being nominated BJP's prime ministerial candidate and managed to capitalize on the drawbacks of UPA's rule. When everyone was trying to find ways to stop Narendra Modi, he was busy talking about development, growth, prosperity, vision for India and good days for every citizen. He played his cards very carefully and managed his campaign in a professional way.

Development card: Modi talked about Gujarat model and promised to take similar steps across the country for overall development and growth. His Gujarat report card went a long way in convincing voters that he knows how to bring about prosperity and deliver without fail. He talked about 24 hours electricity, irrigation facility, basic amenities to every citizen and jobs for unemployed. His opponents used all their energies in finding faults with his Gujarat model, but rarely did they offer any concrete plan on vision for India. Modi managed to communicate that he stands for development and this turned the tide in his favour.

Brand card: Brand 'Modi' became so popular that people voted for him even if they did not agree with the ideology of BJP. Brand Modi stood for determination, growth, prosperity and willingness to bring about the change that every India was craving for. During the campaign Brand Modi was everywhere and it became impossible to ignore him.
