In a major revelation made, a
special audit conducted recently on the directions of the Union Health
Ministry brings forth reports about embezzlement of over Rs. 400
crore of funds at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, a
premier central government funded health institution and group of
medical colleges.
This audit was conducted for the first time in the 58 years of the existence of the premier health institution.
Health Ministry took more than a year to share audit report
The audit report, which is divided into five sections and comprises
of 340 pages, was put in the public domain after more than a year of
its completion by the Union Health Ministry and AIIMS administration.
